THE DRAGON
اژدها
An evil dragon lived in a castle in the remote southern mountains.
در کوهستانهای دور افتاده جنوب اژدهایی شرور در یک قلعه زندگی می کرد.
One day the monster landed in a town.
روزی یک غول در یک شهر فرود آمد.
The dragon commanded the people, “Give me food now, or I will eat you!”
این اژدها خطاب به مردم دستور داد:”همین الان به من غذا بدهید، اگرنه شما را می خورم!”
The dragon lifted its wings so that its lungs could be completely filled with hot steam, and breathed it upon the people.
اژدها بالهایش را بالا برد تا حسابی شش هایش را از بخار داغ پُر کند، و سپس بخار را به سمت مردم دمید.
A man turned into a stone statue!
مردی به مجسمه ای سنگی تبدیل شد!
The people submitted and brought food.
مردم تسلیم شدند و غذا آوردند.
The dragon ate all of it and left.
اژدها همه غذا را خورد و رفت.
The people sent a boy to ask for help from a wise old man.
مردم برای درخواست کمک پسری را نزد پیرمردی دانا فرستادند.
He resided in a temple.
پیرمرد در یک معبد زندگی می کرد.
The boy told the old man about the dragon.
آن پسر جریان آن اژدها را برای پیرمرد گفت.
Then, the old man counseled the boy.
سپس، پیرمرد آن پسر را راهنمایی کرد.
“A meteor will fall in the northern sky.
پیرمرد گفت: ” شهاب سنگی از آسمان شمال سقوط خواهد کرد.
It will make a huge explosion.
این شهاب سنگ انفجار عظیمی ایجاد خواهد کرد.
Find the meteor and bring it to me.
آن شهاب سنگ را پیدا کن و برایم بیاور.
I will use it to make a sword for you.”
من از آن شهاب سنگ برای تو شمشیری خواهم ساخت.
The boy did as the old man said.
پسر هم کاری را که پیرمرد گفت انجام داد.
Soon, the sword was ready.
شمشیر به زودی آماده شد.
“ Use this to kill the dragon.
پیرمرد گفت: “برای کُشتن اژدها از این استفاده کن.
But be careful.
اما مراقب باش.
You must cover yourself with weeds that smell bad.
بایستی خودت را با علفهای بدبو بپوشانی.
That will ensure that he does not smell you,” the man said.
به این ترتیب خیالت راحت خواهد بود که اژدها تو را نخواهد بویید.
The boy traveled for many days to find the castle.
پسر چندین روز سفر کرد تا آن قلعه را پیدا کند.
He went to the upper level and opened a door.
او به بالاترین پله رفت و در را باز کرد.
He could see the dragon’s tail.
می توانست دُم اژدها را ببیند.
It was sleeping, so the boy killed it.
اژها خواب بود، پس پسرآن را کُشت.
Then, he took the dragon’s gold and jewelry and returned to his town.
سپس، طلاها و جواهرت اژدها را برداشت و به شهرش بازگشت.
The people were happy.
مردم خوشحال شدند.
